Job Summary

Reporting into the EMEA Cloud & Hosting Bid Team Lead, this role will support the CenturyLink EMEA bid team in the production of professionally written proposals that clearly articulate the CenturyLink value proposition.


The Proposal Manager will assist in the assembling and management of a bid team with the relevant service / product / business knowledge required to prepare a winning bid. Responsibilities include introduction and implementation of all necessary bid procedures and processes. The Proposal Manager also plays a key role in ensuring bid content is kept up to date. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. It will require strong people management skills in a dynamic sales environment.

Job Description

  • Assist in the delivery of coherent, technically correct and successful bid and proposal submissions.
  • Support the Bid Team Lead to ensure robust process management and ‘bidding best practice’ is applied to bids.
  • Prioritise activities and output to ensure overall information is delivered to customers in the specified timelines.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop new proposal content.
  • Package and present information summaries on opportunities to senior management via approval boards and maintain overall status of all activities.
  • Liaise with the other members of the Bid Team and the Bid Team Lead on proposal content to ensure it is meeting requirements of CenturyLink responses.
  • Document bid calls/meetings on an ongoing basis for the life cycle of the opportunity
  • Work with CenturyLink internal teams such as operations, engineering, pricing and legal to structure bid responses
  • Gain expert knowledge of who the subject matter experts are within CenturyLink on a cross functional and company wide basis, so that the right combination of resources can be engaged to craft unique and winning bid responses.
  • Work with key partners for areas of bids and solutions that CenturyLink cannot entirely support in-house.
  • Support the delivery of customer facing presentations as required.
  • Manage and validate the creation of key aspects of the bid, such as Technical Solution Pricing, KPIs and bid budgets.
  • Regularly update CenturyLink knowledge management system and use this system as one of the first point of calls for answering all bid questions.
  • Use CenturyLink bid and sales management tools (e.g. Qvidian and to manage and update bid progress.
  • Become a subject matter expert on Qvidian, the content tool used by CenturyLink.
  • Ensure sales teams are briefed on the latest bid management processes.

The Proposal Manager should possess

  • Extensive experience in using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be comfortable working at all levels.
  • Have the ability to manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities.
  • Solid understanding and management of internal governance procedures.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Interest in achieving APMP Foundation level
  • Experience of working with


  • BSc or BA Degree in Business or Technical discipline or equivalent experience


Bachelors or Equivalent in Business or Other Technology
