Job Summary

The primary objective of this sales position is to acquire and grow new Custom Managed Network Services, Advanced Managed Network Services and SD WAN revenue in an assigned regional geography and sales Business Unit as an overlay services seller to medium, large and complex clients, including state and local government and the education sector. Desired result is acquiring new monthly recurring revenue at or above assigned growth and incremental revenue targets.  Key function is establishing working relationship with the region’s direct and channel sales account teams, prospecting, qualifying, and closing Managed Network Services and SD WAN services customers for CenturyLink. 



Job Description

  • Experience in selling managed LAN/WAN networking services, Software Defined Network services, Application and/or outsourced solutions.
  • Partner with CenturyLink account directors and customers through a strategic and consultative sales approach to understand their business needs, issues, strategies and priorities to deliver a value-added services solution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships at the ‘C’ level in the pursuit of Managed Network Services and SD WAN sales inside of large commercial and government clients.
  • Accountable for meeting and/or exceeding assigned sales objectives and monthly revenue quotas, and building new revenue within a designated region.
  • Must provide superior technology and solution knowledge of Managed Network Services and SD WAN services.
  • Will build and maintain accurate and up to date strategic account plans associated with regional Managed Network Services and SD WAN services sales opportunities.
  • Must be self motivated and self disciplined and provide prompt follow-up to all customer inquiries.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to present in both small and large group settings.
  • Must be able to keep organized, accurate records on daily activities and results.
  • Will be required to obtain technical certifications.
  • Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to general trends, emerging technologies, and competitors.
  • Manage sales funnel to analyze and manage pipeline activity and monitor sales activity against assigned quotas.



  • Experience in selling complex managed network solutions to medium and enterprise businesses.
  • Demonstrated success in applying consultative selling techniques to opportunities.
  • Proven and verifiable track record in exceeding sales quotas.
  • Strong communication skills and presence in communicating with Executives.
  • High energy and drive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Consultative or solutions selling training (Miller Heiman, Sandler, etc.)
  • Demonstrated level of success in the development of complex and emerging technology solutions
  • Experience with Financial modeling
  • Demonstrated experience selling a combination of the following strongly preferred:
    • Managed network Services/Outsourcing
    • Outsourcing services
    • Professional services
    • Managed network solutions
  • Capacity to work with dynamic product offerings with different underlying technologies
  • High level of expertise in Wide Area Networking and Internet solutions
  • Ability to understand, explain and execute hybrid networking strategies
  • Ability to articulate and evangelize the value of SD-WAN
  • Experience with network migration and transformation to virtualization
  • Familiarity or experience any with the following vendor solutions:
    • Versa Networks
    • Viptela/Cisco SDWAN
    • SilverPeak
    • Talari
    • Velocloud/VMWare
    • Meraki, Aruba and/or Aeorhive wireless networking
    • Fortinet
    • Juniper
    • SolarWinds or other network management tools
  • Working knowledge of SaaS and Cloud Service Provider architectures as well as Unified Communications / Collaboration services
