The Managing Director of Sales in GAM leads and drives the attainment of sales revenue objectives for Amazon. Just how strong is your ambition, passion and ability to execute? The Hyperscale Team is responsible for the WW strategy, relationship management and sales performance of the largest Cloud companies in the World. We are looking for an individual who can lead the Global “One CenturyLink” team responsible for planning and executing the engineering, commercial and sales relationship with Amazon. The primary objective is to increase CenturyLink’s share of the business through innovation, leadership and execution. The success of the candidate will be measured by share of the infrastructure, new business developed and the customer experience, evidenced by increased recurring and total revenue.
- Strategy, tactics, investment, team and resources used WW to achieve the goals, and develop and drive the sales strategy between CenturyLink and Amazon.
- Integration of sales strategies and leadership of the team across CenturyLink and Amazon - working with product, services, sales and executive management, to deliver the strategy and revenue goals.
- Developing and leveraging executive level relationships within Amazon, within the customer’s organization, and within other relevant organizations to support execution of strategies.
- Effectively engage with the Amazon worldwide regions (management, marketing, sales, support and services) to engage with Amazon to drive new and existing revenue streams.
- Effectively track the progress of the relationship through the Scorecard, QBR/QSR process and through the WW Virtual Team to ensure that there is consistency on overall strategy and tactical steps to drive the performance.
- Build, lead and manage a hard line and virtual team including Marketing, Engineering, Services, Account Management and Commercial to achieve the goals and core strategies.
- Evaluate, develop and gain approval for selected investments between CenturyLink and Amazon to drive incremental revenue and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate/report/solve business issues and strategic opportunities between CenturyLink and Amazon at every level of engagement.
- 10-15 yrs experience in senior sales management roles – preferably within a global organization.
- Existing relationships across the relevant Amazon IT & Infrastructure organizations.
- A proven track record of selling and influencing at CxO and internal VP level.
- Experience in managing multiple geobased team(s) with senior individuals in a direct and/or virtual reporting infrastructure.
- Have a broad knowledge of the “cloud” marketplace with specific focus on IT & Networking.
- Thorough understanding of “Cloud” companies from one or more perspectives; sales, marketing experience.
- Strong skills in: communication (oral, written, presentation) prioritization, organization, negotiation, execution ability, strategic thinking, customer service, budget and project management, and interpersonal skills.
- This position will have frequent contact with all levels of Amazon employees and will require high level contact with CenturyLink and Amazon executive management.
