Job Summary

This position is a fully qualified technical analyst responsible for system support functions for the Finance Organization.  This position serves as the technical liaison for business clients, responding to and resolving a variety of client requests, supporting system project implementations and performing ongoing system production functions.

Job Description

  • Performs Systems Administration support functions for Business  Applications for user access, table maintenance and  business rule development
  • Develops and implements reporting and end user solutions for clients utilizing a variety of tool sets
  • Serves as key resource for project implementations for business functional/technical requirements, testing, training, change management process assistance and system documentation
  • Assists with system operational functions including collaboration with IT organization to ensure appropriate system performance such as database performance tuning/controls
  • Conducts system production operations either directly on in conjunction with IT for monthly production processing, error correction, output analysis
  • Provides end user client support, fulfilling requests requiring analysis and variety of solutions.
  • Performs in a highly skilled role with proficient technical and business expertise for the responsible area.

Skills Preferred:  Data Mining, Linux/Unix, Systems Administration, Oracle, DB Administration, PERL, Shell Scripting, SAS, HTML, SQL, General Development/Programming skills.  IT Acumen or Background and possess strong Analytics skills. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate the current business situation and provide a recommendation to all levels of management.


Data Analytics

  • Seeking a Senior Technical Analyst that has strong reporting and analytical skills. Applicant should be familiar with SQL, Excel and some experience with SAS or the aptitude to learn. Knowledge of financial terms such as Aging, AR, Write-Off, Bad Debt, Accruals. Position will work closely with Finance and Marketing Leadership to forecast key metrics. This person should have the ability to create and deliver meaningful presentations to all levels of leadership.

Preferred Skills

  • Candidate will need to know Data Mining Tools (SAS, SQL, Oracle, Excel) to explore, understand, and filter vast quantities of data to be able to find the “jewels” of information that could be useful in analyzing a business need or request.
  • Build and Develop PowerPoint presentations that report Aging, AR, Bad Debt on a monthly, quarterly basis.
  • Deliver clear concise presentations on performance to all levels within Finance.
  • Ability to be able to merge data from multiple sources to create pristine datasets free from errors in logic, duplication, in order to perform statistical modeling and analysis.
  • Must be able to identify trends, and separate root cause from correlation.  By performing root-cause analysis this individual should be able to determine the key drivers that result in specific business outcomes. 
  • Once the key drivers are isolated the Senior Technical Analyst will need to be able to recommend creative approaches to directly impact those key drivers or root causes in order to influence a more beneficial outcome while being fully aware of all downstream impacts and be able to brainstorm potential unintended consequences.
  • Ability to automate repetitive reports in order to save time.


  • Capacity to understand reported results in context of how they relate to the overall business as a whole, as well as specific organizational reporting structures.
  • It is imperative to be able to track finalized results back up through the various systems that feed the consolidated result to determine where the results are coming from and to be able to identify, isolate, and trend the drivers of those results.
  • Need the ability to take account-level detail and extrapolate findings into an aggregate representation of a population as a whole.
  • Perform financial data analysis and variance analysis to support business units in analyzing performance and achieving both corporate financial targets and operational objectives.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial modeling.  Data-mining and Analytics skills mentioned above a huge benefit.

Automation and Systems Administration

  • Ability to create a high-quality analytical environment by establishing systems and data that enable quick and effective analytics.
  • Oversee the ETL (extraction, transformation, loading) of data from numerous corporate data warehouses into our local Risk Assessment Datamart.
  • Create scripts to automate SAS programs to produce reporting, modeling, and forecasting datasets.  Examples -

    • Non-Pay Forecasts
    • CRIS Reserve Requirements
    • PRISM and HSI Non-Pay Analysis
    • Treatment and Recovery Models

    • Customer Quality Report
    • Fraud Report
  • Schedule production jobs on hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis.  Investigate any issues in processing of automated jobs.
  • Linux Systems Administration/Oracle Database Administration
