Job Summary

CenturyLink is seeking a Senior Attorney to join its global Ethics and Compliance team in the Legal Department.  The position will be located at Corporate Headquarters in Monroe, Louisiana.  The successful candidate will assist with support and implementation of the Ethics and Compliance program globally.    

Job Description

· Assist with the day-to-day operation and administration of the Company’s global ethics and compliance program, including:  

Policy development, drafting and interpretation; developing and implementing trainings, education and communications; management of issues reported to the Company’s internal compliance hotline; and assisting with the reporting process

· Evaluate enterprise risk resulting from violations of policies, law, and regulations globally

· Conduct internal compliance investigations

· Partner with and provide legal counsel to other key stakeholders in the organization to achieve compliance initiatives

· Assist with risk assessments and compliance audits

· Manage outside legal counsel and other third-party vendors when required to assist the Company with compliance matters





·         Bachelor’s and Juris Doctorate degrees from accredited institution(s)

·         Admitted to, or qualified for admission to, at least one State Bar

·         2-6 years of experience as attorney with experience at a private law firm, in-house corporate legal department and/or government agency

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Self-starter willing to take initiative to develop, lead and implement projects

·         Team-player, ability to flourish in both collaborative and independent work environments



·         Strong academic credentials

·         Prior knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: corporate investigations, employment law, litigation, anticorruption, OFAC requirements, import and export law, international law, risk management

·         Organizational, time-management and prioritization capabilities, with the ability to manage workload independently, efficiently and with minimal supervision

·         Comfortable working in a fast-paced business environment and managing multiple internal clients and deadlines

·         Sound business and legal judgment, with the ability to proactively identify issues (compliance, legal, regulatory and business) and develop effective, practical solutions
