Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for a Supervisor in the Carrier Access Billing department.  The supervisor will provide leadership to the Carrier Access Billing staff in generating accurate and timely carrier access invoices. The CABS supervisor also provides operational support in the CABS organization and accurately generates access revenue streams for the company.

Job Description


  • Analyze billing cycle trends, identify and explain financial variances to ensure billing accuracy and provide support to various finance teams regarding revenue trends
  • Assist/direct implementation of new products which relate to various corporate sales initiatives
  • Review and develop efficient and effective processes to reduce labor intensive efforts and increase billing accuracy
  • Serve as escalation contact for billing disputes
  • Ensure rates are properly updated in billing system when rate changes occur
  • Works to assure proper maintenance of the CDG billing system including interaction with the CDG programming staff relating to software updates. 
  • Assist in implementing billing conversion data into the CABS system upon acquisitions and/or mergers
  • Communicate issues to management and work with other departments to ensure resolutions
  • Coach and train staff to strengthen their productivity in the department and company
  • Serve as a backup for a variety of other departmental functions


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business, CIS, or Engineering)
  • 5 or more years experience in Business related field or CIS
  • Must have strong quantitative and data analytical skills to determine billing impacts.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, Access, and Power Point; SQL/database skills a plus.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to articulate technical, financial, operating and system issues to major stakeholders in a concise and cohesive manner.
  • Ability to meet bill cycle deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize job tasks while maintaining documentation
  • Ability to work independently and initiate discussions.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisor experience.
  • Knowledge of Access Billing.
  • Working knowledge of CDG billing system.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to multi task.
  • Detail and process oriented with the ability to organize and set priorities.
  • Ability to utilize SQL and Webfocus to extract against mainframe and oracle databases.
  • Knowledge of product and sales offerings with ability to interpret contracts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact well with others.
  • Working knowledge of the Company's financial operating and billing procedures.
  • Be a team player, optimistic, willing to learn and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Understanding of telecom industry standard databases and terminology (ex. LERG, NECA4, etc.).
