Job Summary

We have openings for our 2018 Summer Internship Program in Public Policy located in Monroe, LA. This internship will provide student interns with insight and practical experience in Public Policy and Government Relations. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the intersection of law, policy, and regulation.  The candidate must possess a strong interest in writing, research, and interacting with local, state, and federal issues widely ranging from legal and regulatory issues to local development.  Our internship will provide a student intern with practical work experience designed to expand their classroom education and career path as they prepare for a profession in government and regulatory policies.

Job Description


  • Handle research and writing of legal, regulatory, and policy focus towards telecom and local development issues
  • Work with team on discreet projects
  • Shadow team members during internal and external meetings
  • Write collateral and talking points
  • Assist with Grass Roots Campaigns
  • Work with a number of teams within Policy, including policy development, advocacy development and advocacy


  • In pursuit of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Pre-Law, Communications or MBA.
  • Ability to deliver accurate and succinct communications
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, set direction and solve problems in a fast pace environment
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


  • Must submit a resume, transcript, and a letter of recommendation (at time of interview)
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher (Preferred GPA 3.2)
  • Must be currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University
  • Must be a rising junior, senior or graduate student
  • Must work 15-20  hours per week during the 10 week session
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work daily for the duration of the internship
