The purpose of this position is ensuring the systems and processes in place to support to the business users and SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) Module are functioning properly to meet all business requirements and ensure compliance to governance standards. The ideal candidate will mange a diverse team of IT professionals in development environment for data transformation and configurations for ASC Accounting Standard 606- Revenue Recognition in the SAP RAR module. The individual will serve as the liaison between the Finance organization and the IT development team to maintain alignment on critical development needs.
Lead the planning, design and implementation of business process changes within assigned areas of responsibility-RAR module in SAP and the data staging transformation layer. Develop and maintain thorough understanding of existing business processes, and the information and data they require and generate. Develop and maintain relationships within the Finance organization to allow for alignment and path for escalations.
- Establish controls and oversee compliance to those controls (SOX)
- Work with auditors (internal and external) to answer questions and perform analysis
- Assure documentation is in place and updated as needed
- Organize effective task and steering teams to address complex and cross-functional project requirements, issues and objectives.
- Oversee a change control process that aligns existing controls or develop new ones
- Support month end financial closing process
- Manage a geographically dispersed team of IT professionals to meet daily objectives and deliver business requirements
- Meet regularly with revenue accounting team to ensure alignment, provide status reporting and reprioritize work of team
- Strong understanding of ASC 606 accounting standards
- Excellent presentation & communication skills (oral and written)
- Exceptional ability to perform individually and in a team
- Must be able to make technical/functional recommendations
- Proactively communicate in business discussions with all levels of system & business personnel
- Experience with working directly with users at all different levels to help guide complex projects and develop solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Technology or related field
- 4+ years of experience managing a team of individual contributors
- 5-7 years of experience in an area of business administration, finance, accounting or position performing similar duties and responsibilities
- SAP configuration experience- specifically in RAR, FI/CO or SD configuration
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
- Ability to travel occasionally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years overall SAP experience with 2+ years of experience with the FI module or SD module- specifically hands-on configuration
- Experience with SAP RAR (Revenue Accounting and Reporting)
- Experience with system and process modeling and design tools
- Strong relationship, interpersonal, communication and business process skills
- Demonstrated planning and coordination skills with development initiatives
- Proven ability to achieve success without direct organizational authority functional lines.
