Job Summary

Partner in a team environment to design, develop, code, test and debug new software or significant enhancements to existing software of moderate complexity.  Develop solutions across many disciplines and be responsible for explaining solutions and procedures.  Apply principles, theories and concepts and use methodologies, tools, documentation processes and test procedures to complete projects related to moderately complex software.

Job Description

  • Responsible for design, development, enhancements, deployment, support, and maintenance of application working in a team environment
  • Design and develop APIs and microservices
  • Develops reports and queries
  • Adapt to new technologies and upgrade application software as well as 3rd party tools and API’s as needed
  • Participate in walk through of designs and programs providing appropriate feedback to ensure the technical quality of an application and provide solutions to design and program issues
  • Develop understanding of business processes, products, and metrics to better communicate and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Must adhere to all development processes and best practices to ensure appropriate flow of work with onsite, remote, off-shore, and contract resources
  • Provide on-call support
  • Create and maintain software and process documentation as needed
  • Actively participate in Scrum calls and coordinate with onshore/offshore developers in various time zones
  • Estimates timeline for assigned projects and ensures that work is completed within estimates given
  • Works with the Scrum Master, Systems engineer, Developer, Database Administrator, System Administrator, Project Management, Testing teams to maintain applications, refine and complete requirements and user acceptance

Qualifications

  • Typically 2-3+ years professional experience
  • Bachelor 's degree or equivalent experience

 

Skills

  • Must have
    • Java development experience
    • git
    • Knowledge of SQL scripting RDBMS (preferably Oracle)
    • UNIX/Linux intermediate skills, must be able to navigate around and deploy applications
    • SOAP & RESTful APIs

 

  • Nice to have:
    • Spring, spring boot, hibernate
    • High transaction API development
    • Kubernetes exposure
    • Understanding of microservice

Bachelors or Equivalent
