Job Summary

Directs the research, analysis and pricing support for all facets of sales improvements relating to performance, margin analysis and pricing within CenturyLink's Federal Government channel. Additional duties include negotiating special pricing and contractual terms and conditions outside established boundaries. Acts as internal company expert on the customer solution pricing. Manages Request For Pricing (RFP) workflow for assigned area, assigns workload based on the expertise of the commercial team, focus of the RFP, current workload, and complexity of projects.

Job Description

Pricing: Directs the evaluation and implementation of complex pricing strategies and models to maximize sales and market penetration and ensure long-term profitability objectives are met. Approves terms and conditions of negotiated large, complex contract pricing terms, discounts, MSA and service schedules for large business opportunities. Participates in the RFP process as needed.

Analysis: Manages projects associated with estimating impact of pricing changes, individual promotions and rebate programs. Projects impact of pricing changes on profitability, ROI and growth rates. Provides business case assessment of risk/reward and payment terms scenarios. Serves as escalation path as needed. Analyzes projects in context of corporate financials.

Contract Negotiation: Negotiates payment terms, MSAs and service schedules. Manages contract workflow and provides red line contracts back to legal, sales, and customer. Independently resolves most issues, escalates highly complex issues to legal or commercial services management and relevant senior leadership.

Trends: Evaluates discounting and financial trends within channel and communicates trends to internal parties as appropriate.


MBA a plus.
* 5-7 years professional and managerial experience.
* Expert written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to build relationships with team members and relationships at all levels of the organization.
* Able to influence a project team or team of employee-owners.
* Intermediate presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as direct a team.
* Experienced in leading high performing direct and virtual teams and must be able to drive results in a matrixed organizational structure.
* Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
* Detail oriented, conducting analysis with a high degree of accuracy and data integrity.
* Highly advanced analytical skills.
* Able to work with large sets of data (pricing, sales, product delivery metrics) and able to understand and distill data into action items.
* Able to develop, plan, and implement short and long term goals.
* Able to structure deals creatively.
* Advanced understanding of company financial measures and financial modeling.
* Advanced understanding of telecommunications industry to design complex deal structures.
* Advanced MS Office Suite knowledge (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
* Ability to learn internal company systems.
* Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and computer modeling techniques.
* Advanced understanding of Level (3) telecommunications products and network capabilities.
* Ability to travel as needed (Approx. 10%).
