Job Summary

The Lead Talent Development Consultant will directly support the Central region while also leading companywide training initiatives. This position collaborates with business leaders across all North American organizations; local and national, technical, service delivery, sales and safety, to develop training strategies to achieve defined business objectives.

Job Description

  • Lead the training delivery for specific training courses utilizing strong facilitation skills.
  • Exemplifies instructor behaviors and provides coaching and counseling to develop trainers to apply new skills and knowledge on the job.
  • Lead North American Operations-wide initiatives; e.g.: safety, MAX, and Leader development through instructor led training or video creation and distribution.
  • Ensures materials for assigned courses remain updated and proactively initiates necessary modifications.
  • Partner with Training managers to determine effectiveness of assigned courses by obtaining and evaluating necessary metrics (levels 1 & 3, ROI).
  • Interact with training and student managers regarding the performance of participants and provide recommendations concerning areas of improvement and/or development.
  • Oversee the development of appropriate lab systems necessary to support developed technical curriculum.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen when recommending solutions to address performance concerns.
  • Ability to travel 50% and live within 50 miles of a major airport.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • 4+ years in training and development function.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, customer service skills are a must.
  • 3+ years presenting technical concepts to students of all experience and career level.
  • Project management of regional or nationwide initiatives impacting more than 500 users.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR related discipline or other related technical field or comparable experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Broad knowledge of performance consulting.
  • 2+ years experience in direct people leadership positions, preferably within training or technical functions.
  • Working collaboratively across departments to meet goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of instructor led and e-Learning solutions.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems preferably SuccessFactors.
  • Technical knowledge and instruction of OSP- examples: FTTx, national networking and safety.
