Job Summary


The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the CenturyLink Professional Services product offerings associated with Custom Managed Services portfolio globally. The position will leverage proven leadership and collaboration skills to deliver services with cross functional teams while helping to drive growth of the Professional Services portfolio. The candidate will have overall responsibility for establishing Product roadmaps, developing solutions that drive material financial results and delivery of Professional Service solutions with a primary focus with SD-WAN technologies.  The candidate will be responsible for achieving yearly revenue and profitability targets through timely and effective support of customer engagements and development of new solution areas, as applicable.   This position is accountable for a variety of functions that require exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Job Description


  • Supports all aspects of the product marketing plan, including business case development, customer targeting and product positioning.
  • Develops vision and market strategy across products. Identify market direction, what’s important to customers, where technology and features are evolving and where the company can effectively compete.
  • Employs a disciplined approach for developing product quote to cash processes. Ensures service delivery processes and back office systems associated with the product are optimized to reduce product cost basis.
  • Manages product financial results and variances monthly and annually to ensure product profitability is maximized.
  • Partners with sales teams on specific customer engagements and evaluates customer requirements by collaborating with engineering and cross functional delivery teams to convert customer requirements into a custom quote/proposal.
  • Actively Collaborate on Contract and Vendor RFI/RFP Solicitation. Provide input and assess Best Practices for a day to day tactical and strategic working environment.
  • Develops Statement of Work(s) to be used in customer proposals and contracts.  Acts as SME and decision-maker in customer negotiations for all customer contract modifications. Negotiates business terms and conditions of customer contracts. 
  • Responsible for project-specific vendor management on a global basis including sourcing, pricing, and daily ‘deal-by-deal’ negotiations by partnering with Procurement.
  • Provides leadership and direction to a wide range of cross functional operational teams to ensure projects are delivered according to customer expectations.
  • Supports the planning, execution, and go-to-market activities by closely working with operations and channel marketing teams. 
  • Leverage organizational capabilities to develop detailed documentation and manage complex product commercialization services; prioritize many tasks using sound decision-making skills and with a strong sense of urgency.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Network technology, business or engineering discipline.
  • 6+ years related product management experience and/or previous hands-on technology role (engineering, product development, or systems operations).
  • Demonstrated technical expertise and knowledge of data networking (WAN, LAN, Network Equipment, DIA and MPLS) and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Exhibits strong product financial management skills and analytic competence.
  • Experience creating product specifications, performing competitive analysis, and/or market research.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio) applications.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Telecommunications.
  • Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies and how SD-WAN orchestrates/operates across these elements.
  • Experience with Vendor Management globally.
