CenturyLink seeks a proactive Senior Visual UI Designer to design and optimize the experience of B2B customer portals and internal employee applications. The ideal candidate will be able to evolve complex and rough interactive wireframes into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user experiences. As part of the UX Design team, the designer will work closely with user experience (UX) designers to understand key needs of the users and create enjoyable, accessible, and intuitive experiences that elevate the CenturyLink brand across mobile and desktop applications.


Job Description


  • Elevate UX design wireframes for both desktop and mobile experiences with elegant and thoughtful visual design.
  • Create useful and enjoyable graphical designs for internal applications that simplify technical workflows.
  • Work with Marketing to understand brand goals and guidelines, and then extend the brand through new designs.
  • Collaborate with other visual designers and to design and build a robust go-forward style guide.
  • Document designs through the by creating style guides, redlines, prototypes, and similar.
  • Explore ideas through rigorous design iterations and implementation. Streamline complex technical content into elegant solutions.
  • Present new design concepts to stakeholders, explaining rationale for approach and working collaboratively toward a final approved direction.
  • Participate in user research such as persona creation, use case scenario development, usability testing, and more.
  • Work with both the product and engineering teams through the development cycle to ensure that the finished product is simple to use and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Mentor other designers on the team, helping them build their visual UI design skills.
  • Quickly and creatively problem solve appropriate design solutions for the team when necessary.
  • Design icons and other visual elements as needed.
  • Stay current on emerging UX/UI trends; learn and apply learnings with the team.


  • Bachelor degree in Graphic design or similar
  • 8+ years experience in UI design of web, mobile, and software applications
  • Expert design skills with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, or similar required
  • Strong understanding of design guidelines and best practices for accessibility, mobile, and responsive design
  • Experience with data visualization and other complex user interfaces
  • Strong skills in ideating and conceptualizing
  • Ability to engage, collaborate and influence partners and stakeholders at all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Strong understanding of design principles and ability to communicate and present conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, dependability, and collaboration
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment from concept to deliverable on time
  • Experience with UX prototyping tools such as Axure or iRise strongly desired, and knowledge of HTML/CSS a plus


Designer can work at one of 3 CenturyLink sites located in the Denver metro area.
