Job Summary

 

This position is responsible for supporting the Product Management function to grow revenue and improve efficiencies for Enterprise networking products that include, but are not limited to, MPLS IP VPN Services. The person in this position will closely align with Product Management as well as organizations such as Sales, Operations and Process, Architecture and Engineering, Marketing, and IT to drive success.

 

Job Description

 

Product Management:

  • Support the development of new products and product features by learning to deepen product knowledge for possible testing, documentation, and addressing some of the questions directed to Product Management.
  • Provide support for tickets generated by Sales and Sales Support; involves investigating with cross functional teams including IT, Product Management and Operations and driving resolution.
  • Represent the Product Team for the Specials process to review and discuss business value, scope, road map alignment, technical capability and operational feasibility.
  • Support Sales inquiries to Product Management team related to customer SLA’s, RFP responses, and other general Sales and Sales Support inquiries.
  • Drive consistency in process and solutions provided for customers and ensure product strategy alignment.
  • Develop process enhancements to enable Sales to onboard customers more efficiently.
  • Support Sales with non-standard strategic customer product requests by participating in recurring cross-functional meetings and representing the product team and product strategy.
  • Track non-standard request approvals, assist product management team in determining go-forward product enhancements needed, and develop requirements to be utilized in the product development process.
  • Manage Sales and Sales Support requests for special pricing, evaluate deal terms to determine if financials are within desired .profitability and payback parameter
  • Develop and manage requirements for needed enhancements to drive Sales efficiency
  • Produce ongoing readouts to gauge the portfolio’s success against product plans and strategy.

 

Analysis:

  • Team with other Product team members, analysts, and others for data analysis and development, such as managing the IP VPN market coverage POP list and latency tables.
  • Identify and execute on process improvement initiatives to drive revenue and sales effectiveness
  • Leverage research and customer engagements to identify new product initiatives that give us a competitive advantage
  • Track and report on progress/success of all process improvement initiatives to leadership

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years related experience
  • Ability to drive for results through leadership and flexible approaches
  • Ability to build consensus in a matrixed reporting structure
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Telecom or tech industry experience a plus but not required
