CenturyLink’s internship program is a 10 week, fast-paced and exciting opportunity to gain professional experience within your field of study and career interest. Interns within the Field Operation and Network Implementation group are responsible for assisting engineers and construction project administrators (CPA’s) with decision support and managing engineering and construction projects. Typical projects involve problem solving and process application in order to increase network capacity and meet customer demand requirements in accordance with business objectives and department budgets. Selected candidate will access and update various engineering systems to ensure capacity is inventoried and available to meet demand. This internship will take place in Portland, OR. In addition, interns will connect to our company culture through community outreach projects, engage with our employee resource groups and be able to develop their professional skills and business acumen through frequent exposure to senior leadership, cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking projects, and a network of mentors and fellow interns. • Utilizing a variety of system for inventorying OSP facilities.
• Document projects and manage OSP job budgets.
• Work closely with field technicians and other Engineers to answer fiber verification requests, project estimates, designs, bids and permits.
• Monitor OSP builds for project completion and quality.
Minimum Requirements:
• Pursing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, management Information Systems, or business administration.
• Currently enrolled at a 4-year accredited College or University at time of internship.
• 3.0 or above cumulative GPA.
• Available for Summer Internship Program: 5/26/2020 – 7/31/2020.
• Work or educational experience in engineering, project management or business administration space.
• Desire to get work experience in the service provider network engineering organization.
• Motivation to pursue the career path in engineering, project management, management information system or business administration.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to demonstrate ownership and accountability.
• Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible and adapts well to change.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
